How will you eat this weekend?

Eat The Weekend uploads a recipe every Friday that is designed to be quick, easy and requiring minimal ingredients.  These recipes are used in my everyday kitchen and chosen with the frugal shopper and beginner cook in mind.  If you eat the same meals everyday, or opt for fast food/takeout instead of cooking, Eat The Weekend is all about providing an alternative.

Just Pour! - Chocolate Ganache Butter Tart
Chocolate ganache flavoured with cayenne pepper and nutmeg, poured into a prepared butter tart base.

Personally, I grew up in a home that didn’t have a cooker (or hot water or heating!) and cooking remained a mystery to me until I was early 30s and 70 lbs (that’s 5 stone!) overweight.  It took a lot of trial, error and perseverance in the kitchen to move to a diet beyond microwave pizza and share-size bags of crisps (chips, to Americans!).

Stuff Some Cheese! Brie Stuffed With Cranberries and Walnuts
A round of brie packed with halved cranberries and chopped walnuts, ready for baking!

Eat The Weekend serves as my online recipe book.  I hope that, by signing up to a new recipe every week, that you too will expand what you and your family eat, try new ingredients, and nourish each day of your weekend!

Thanks for reading and best of luck!
